![]() I'm running the game from Steam and it's crashing at the first loading screen. Sorry if I'm bringing up old or obvious issues. Maybe someone had the same problem/knows a solution? Would be very happy about that! I already tried some solutions that were proposed here but nothing worked for me. Memory:fe1f0000-fe1fffff memory:fe1c0000-fe1dffffĪlways when I try starting RTW (or Barbarian Invasion) it crashes just before playing the intros. Once in the very long ago past I have had a propriatery driver for this Ati VGA but it was supported last time when I had ubuntu 8.04 which was really long ago in a far away galaxy :-). So they are not just parts of the screen at wrong places, but everything is utterly wrong. Also the screen is not only cut into 6 pieces, but also these parts are basically unreadable. The game is not crashing, the menu starts and I can hear the music, I can move the mouse and click on the menu items just I do not see anything because of the scrambled screen. When I tried running the game I tried to install directx dlls (as that made games like mount&blade:warband work) and also tried to force create a virtual desktop which didn't seem to help. I tried with wine1.6 and wine1.8 too (the latter I have installed now). But you can turn this off in steam so platinum it is :) The steam version I have won't work if steam community in-game support is enabled. I didn't have to change anything with wine itself. This is platinum because as the rating systems suggest. Multiplayer battles on both original and expansion This limitation does seem to be the game's "fault" rather then wine and full screen did work on testing.īarbarian Invasion allows slighter higher resolutions. I play with a dual monitor setup so don't like games taking control of full screen. Weather effects worked fine as well.īarbarian Invasion is also perfect, played a good game as Western Roman Empire, encountered no problems. Everything was rendered fine, game was smooth, never crashed and had full control over units. ![]() Everything I came across, I started as the Northern Red faction (House of Julii) and managed to conquer most of Western Europe without encountering any issues.īattles were perfect. ![]()
